Important Calendar Dates

May 23 – Parent Meeting in Parking Lot of Westfield Pool. 7:00 pm. Bring your own lawn chair and all questions.

June 30 – First day of swim practice

June 10 – Away Swim Meet at Nelson Farm

June 17 – Home Swim Meet

July 1 – Home Swim Meet

July 15 – Home Swim Meet

July 21-22 - City Meet (Location TBD)

July 28-30 – Summer State Meet - TBD - must have a state qualifying time to participate (this meet is usually in Denver or Golden)

End of Season Party – Date TBD

Team Suits

The 2023 Westfield Waves swim suit will be available at MI Sports. Team suits are optional. Team colors are blue and black – but again, any suit is acceptable. The 2022 and 2023 team suits are the same, so if the suit from last year still fits, you’re good to go.

Swim Meets and Volunteer Sign-Ups

About 3-4 days before each swim meet, Coach Jackson will send an email asking parents to sign up swimmers for their events. There will be a deadline after which no new events can be added.

You’ll be able to select events for your swimmer and sign up for volunteer positions at the same time. This page shows the variety of volunteer positions that are available: https://westfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/volunteer-positions

Thank you in advance – it takes many parents to run a swim meet and a swim team – and we appreciate all the help!

Refunds

Please encourage your swimmer to try swim team for the first full week. After that, if it isn’t your child’s thing or for any other reason, please let us know via email (to [email protected] or [email protected]) by Monday, June 5 at 12:00 noon. A full refund will be issued via check. No refunds will be issued after Monday, June 5 at 12:00 noon.

Info for Club Swimmers (Vortex, Fast, Loveland…)

For Summer 2023, Horsetooth Summer Swim League has voted and swimmers who are participating with a year-round Swim Club (Fast, Vortex, Loveland...) will not be able to swim in any summer league meets. Club swimmers who take a leave of absence from their club by May 15, are allowed to participate fully in all summer meets. Those who stay with their club beyond May 15, may only attend practices and are not allowed to compete in any summer meets. If this effects your swimmer and you would like a refund for Westfield Waves, please let us know as soon as possible.
